Happy new year everyone!

This looked a lot cooler in my head. =/

Fooling around in Paint Tool SAI. (I love the ink pen tool...)

This took much, much longer than it should have, partly because I've gotten into the habit of "erasing" with the paintbrush. ._.;

I'm not too happy with the result... all suggestions/crits are welcome.

I was fooled!!!! I couldn't believe this was digital! What a wonderful circular composition, the textures in the bark are marvelous, and that little character, whatever he is, is adorable!

I really wasn't so sure about the composition myself, I thought it left too much dead space in the corners... I probably should have added more trees in the background, or cropped it, or something.

Well, my intent was to make it look like the creature is "sucking the soul" out of the trees... (that's one reason why I'm disappointed with it, because it's not really clear)
